TX's Duck Productions - What's that all about then?

The Small Print Disclaimer Thingy:
It's not the intention of TXDP to break any laws or offend anyone. TXDP is designed purely for a laugh. Many pieces of music or sound effects or pictures will not be the creation of The TXDP Crew (eg, The 'Multipla' badge, the music on our videos, obvious stuff like that), so any credit for said things should go the the original creators, not us.
If you see anything that may be considered offensive or prejudiced in any way, please let us know so that we can modify or remove it, as we don't want to do naughty things - We just want to have good clean fun and possibly learn a bit in some places too.

Brief
TXDP is all about a bunch of mates getting together and having a laugh and sharing it with the world. There's lots of stuff on TXDP, some of it funny and informative, some of it looks at serious stuff but in a funny way, and some of it is just plain funny. Whatever we do on TXDP, we hope it provides a smile, a titter, or an all-out belly laugh to someone somewhere.

The History of TX's Duck Productions:

TX's Duck Productions, or TXDP for short, began it's multimedia crusade of fun somewhere between 1997 and 2002. In those years, 'TX' as you know him didn't exist, and was known by his real name Tom, studying hard at school in Colchester. During the long summer holidays he had, he would invite some old friends from primary school who had gone to other secondary schools to his house for long days of mucking about and general hilarity.

On one such occasion, when his house contained a dozen like-minded loonies from his primary and secondary schools, Tom had unknowingly allowed the creation of his Duck trademark. This summer his friends had been using the video camera to record the mayhem and games, and some of them thought it would be funny to put the camera in the bottom of the bath tub (empty bath, mind), and point it at a duck-shaped bath toy. It sat there for over twenty minutes, including a five minute period when Tom actually used the bathroom, before he even noticed it was there. The tape survived the summer, and disappeared into the back of a cupboard, to be forgotten for years.

In year nine of secondary school, academic year 1999-2000, Tom and classmates were set a project in Biology. In his typical way, Tom suggested that his group make an informative video instead of a presentation like all the normal people. His group-mates, two close friends Rob and er, Rob, dressed up in various costumes along with Tom, to complete the entertaining yet educational video about Factory Farming.
Amongst the mass of tom-foolery, Tom remembered the Duck-in-the-bath video, and thought it would be a comical idea to use the image as the logo for an imaginary production company for the project. Et voila! DUCK PRODUCTIONS was born.

Every once in a while since then, Tom thought about making something out of Duck Productions, but nothing ever came about.

At some point in the two years he spent at college, Tom created the image of 'TX' - Tom and his friend signed up to a LAN-gaming centre in Colchester, and were asked to give usernames to use on their system - and in a split second, invented 'TX'- T for Tom, and X... just because it's a cool letter. From then on, Tom used TX as his 'online' and 'showbiz' names. (So that's where TX comes from- a little unwhelming, eh?)
At University in 2004, TX's understanding of websites and HTML had expanded, just in time for another deposit of student loan. He invested in some webspace and created some basic webpages - The foundations of the TXDP website as it is today.

TXDP has been built upon year on year to become better and better, and to spread the laughter further and further. The videos that have been uploaded to YouTube under the name of TXDP have accrued over 100,000 views to date, and we're intent on hitting the million mark with a few really good videos.

Any questions? Have we left a big gaping hole in our history that we forgot to mention? Give us a tinkle: yoursay[at]txdp.co.uk

THANK-YOU!

We'd like to say thanks to the following people:

Freedom 2 Surf, as they have provided TX with brilliant services in both internet access and web hosting, allowing him to muck about online and occasionally put some work into the TXDP website...

Martin Payne, for allowing us to legitamately steal his CSS code, without which would make TXDP look naff again, as it once did. Really, it was hideous.

A friend of TX's, Rob is a great bloke. Although he'd kill TX if he didn't put up a link to his website, so here's your link Rob. :-)

And finally, a big thank-you to everyone else who helped with TXDP in any way, either by donating effort, time or money to our cause. (Our cause being to have fun, occasionally learn something, and share our experiences with everyone else).

If you think you should be in this section, please let us know so we can either tell to you 'go forth and multiply' or quickly go bodge up a paragraph all about you and apologise profusely for forgetting you. :-)
